Handmade, the red pottery features a caramel-colored glaze imitating the texture of volcanic stones. Inside, it uses the ash-fired body and blow-glazing technique, with the inlaid gold technique for embellishment, presenting a simple and elegant style. It turns out in a single color when put into the kiln but comes out in a myriad of colors. Affected by the uniformity and thickness of the glaze application as well as the temperature and position in the kiln, each piece of the imitation volcanic stone caramel-colored glaze varies in shade and texture.
Old pottery clay is usually a mixture of various raw materials, such as Wagon soil, white clay, red clay, and red pottery clay. These raw materials are all natural organic substances, rich in trace elements and minerals, which endow the ceramic products with unique texture and color. The production process of old pottery clay is relatively simple, but it requires certain skills and experience.
Origin: Dehua, the porcelain capital of the world. Material: Ceramic.
